i have elbow length fine hair right now and i want it to be thicker, i love her hair in the picture but i dont think it looks very thick

if i cut my hair like that will it be thicker?

or because of the layers will it be thinner?

It all depends what you ask for at the hairdressers. Print off the photo and simply ask them would it be possible to have that cut but thicker. And yes, if your hair is really really layered it would be thinner.

But then again, just say it to the hairdresser. And just in case for some reason its not possible, have a plan b :)

No, cutting your hair in this style will not make it thicker. No cut will do that. It can, however, create the illusion of thicker hair depending on how you have it cut.

If you have fine hair I think layering could do you well and give you the appearance of thicker hair. You'll want to add some product to it that will give it some body when you style it-adding to the appearance that it is thicker. Try flat ironing it, then fluffing it up with some spray wax to make it fuller.
