i havent had my hair cut in like 3 months,im trying to grow it out to be very long. should i get the ends cut???

It's a personal preference, your hair is dead so there for it can't force your follicles to make more hair. Anyways, if you want to make your hair grow faster maybe you should condition your hair more and where it in protective styles so your hair doesn't break unnecessarily. Most people damage their hair so much that their hair doesn't seem to be growing, only it does it just breaks faster. Oh, and yes, trimming every 3 months should be fine.
