How much should i cut my hair off?

I need help. Not all of my hair has split ends. I only have some. My hair is somewhat soft and shiny. Its thick and its naturallly wavy. I straigten it every school morning and everytime i go out like with my friends. I also blow dry it, only if in a time rush (pretty much never, so i dont really). If im going out with my mom to Starbucks or something I wont. On weekends i dont, and during the summer i dont unless i go out. I havent cut my hair in a while and i need to know if just an inch or two would be ok to get rid of some of my dead ends.
